I’m excited to walk through John Owen’s classic on Meditations and Discourses on the Glory of Christ. One of the main reasons is because “beholding the glory of the Lord” is fully related to “being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.” This can only come about “from the Lord who is the Spirit” (2 Cor. 3:18).
I need to become much more like Him. Much more! I have a very long way to go, but it’s from “one degree of glory to another”–little by little. Furthermore, the more we see, the more we will be transformed. That’s the premise of Owen’s book:
“No man can by faith take a real view of this glory, but virtue will proceed from it in a transforming power to change him ‘into the same image,’ 2 Cor. iii. 18. How this is done, and how we become like unto Christ by beholding his glory, shall be fully declared in our progress.” (Page 22)
I hope you’ll continue to join me on this journey, seeking to behold Jesus in His glory more and more. No doubt, it will be a blessing to walk through these pages with me.
